How to get a photo from a video
A moving clip often contains a moment worth keeping as a photo. Frame by Frame helps you choose that moment and save it as a still image.
Save a frame in three steps
- Choose a video. Open Frame by Frame and select a clip from your phone, or share a video to the app from your gallery.
- Choose the range. Set the start and end points around the moment you want, then extract the frames. A shorter range makes it easier to review nearby moments.
- Pick and save. Browse the results grid, open a frame fullscreen, and tap Save to put that still image in your Photos or gallery.
Tip: If two frames look similar, open them fullscreen and zoom before saving. Small differences in motion can make one image much clearer.
When this is useful
Try it with a sports clip, a pet video, a tutorial, or a recording where the best instant passes too quickly to pause accurately. The core extraction happens on your device.
