Extract a still image on your phone
Frame by Frame uses the same core workflow on iPhone and Android: choose a video, extract a selected range, inspect frames, and save the one you want.
On iPhone
- Install Frame by Frame from the App Store and open it.
- Choose a video from your Photos library and grant the requested access.
- Select the time range, tap Extract, then open a frame from the results grid.
- Tap Save to add the still image to your Photos library.
On Android
- Install Frame by Frame from Google Play and open it.
- Choose a video with the Android picker, or share a video from your gallery into the app.
- Select the range, extract the frames, and inspect the results.
- Tap Save on the chosen frame to add it to your gallery.
On both platforms: The core video and frame processing happens on your device. No account is needed. The free version includes basic extraction and saving; longer actions may show a rewarded ad or offer optional Pro access.
Which frame should you choose?
Look for the clearest subject, the most useful expression or pose, and a composition that still works as a single image. Move between nearby frames if the first choice is blurred.
